Majed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar's foreign ministry and adviser to the emir's prime minister, responded to the Israeli airstrikes carried out on Tuesday, September 9, on a building in Doha that was hosting a meeting of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas. Six people were killed in the attack, but the organization's leaders, who were the target of Israel, escaped unharmed from the explosion.

On Wednesday, in the wake of the strike on Qatar, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on countries that "harbor terrorists" to expel them or bring them to justice, warning that if they failed to do so, Israel would act on its own.

This is a desperate attempt by a desperate politician to justify an act that the entire world sees as unlawful. Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks imply that the presence of Hamas leaders in Doha is a secret and that we are protecting them, when in fact our mediation takes place under the auspices of the international community, with the participation of the United States and Netanyahu's own government. Is the fact that Qatar has been able to return more than 130 Israeli hostages to their families an act of support for terrorism? It is very clear to the international community that Prime Minister Netanyahu is unhinged. The attack on Qatar is nothing less than state terrorism.
