Sheikha Hoor Al-Qasimi seems to be everywhere at once. The daughter of the emir of Sharjah, one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates, is overseeing the upcoming edition of the Sharjah Biennial, running from February 6 to June 15. A lover of Japan, she also makes frequent trips to the country, where she is curating the Aichi Triennial in Nagoya.
As if her schedule wasn't full enough, this unconventional 45-year-old princess is also overseeing the 2026 edition of the Biennale of Sydney in Australia. Running three major exhibitions within the space of a few months is no mean feat. This was not lost on the international magazine ArtReview, which placed her at the top of its annual power list of the most influential figures in contemporary art in November.
