Disruptions to Paris public transport and national rail were expected to be much less severe during strikes on Thursday, October 2, compared to the previous two strike days on September 10 and 18.
National rail company SNCF announced normal service on TGV high-speed trains, with "some disruptions" on TER regional trains and intercity services.
In the Paris region, public transport operator RATP said there would be "no significant impact" from the strike across the metro, tram, and bus networks. In particular, RATP and SNCF expected almost normal service on RER A and B commuter lines.
Service on the RER C and Transilien H lines, however, would be slightly disrupted. Only passengers on RER D and E, as well as those on Transilien lines L, N, R, U and certain outer suburban bus lines, would need to contend with "disrupted service."
The four main unions representing SNCF workers and those at RATP had called on employees to join the strike in large numbers.
