

We caught up with Michel Gaubert in early March, between two shows. "The music was cool, wasn't it?" Gaubert asked, after the show by the Japanese brand Sacai. He had chosen each track, starting with "Your Love" by Frankie Knuckles, one of his favorite artists. He was about to head to the Grand Palais for a Chanel parade rehearsal, where he had selected a piece from the soundtrack of Christopher Nolan's film Oppenheimer (2023), followed by one of his signature eclectic mixes: Daphni (another pseudonym for Canadian electronic composer Caribou), British band Faithless, Detroit techno DJ Derrick May and the entrancing dance tracks of German group Sash!.
For the autumn-winter 2025-2026 Paris Fashion Week, he provided his services as a sound illustrator – a title he prefers – to six fashion houses: In addition to Sacai and Chanel, he worked for Vaquera, Dior, Nina Ricci and Victoria Beckham. A show followed in Courchevel, in Savoie, for Moncler on March 15, where he oversaw the symphony orchestra accompanying the models. His next assignment: a Dior show in Kyoto, scheduled for April 15.
