Le Mas des Escaravatiers
Until August 31, in Puget-sur-Argens, on the French Riviera
The intimate setting of this country house, built in the middle of the vineyards, and the conviviality of a small stage set between the garden and the swimming pool, act as a magic formula for many artists, who share the opinion of the late Jacques Higelin: "At Le Mas, we welcome artists like family, and the public like friends." The lineup includes Alain Souchon on June 28; Chinese Man on July 3; Caballero & JeanJass on July 5; Dionysos on July 18; Santa on July 24; Bakermat on July 26; Patrice on July 27; Julian Marley on August 5; Pierre de Maere on August 28; and Selah Sue on August 31.
Garorock
From June 27 to 30, Marmande, southwestern France
Launched 26 years ago with a militant lineup of punk and alternative fury, between tar and concrete, this festival, which returns to the grass and earth of the Plaine de la Filhole, could be renamed "Garorap" or "Garalatechno," given its strong focus on hip-hop (PLK, Joysad, Luidji) and festive electro beats (Calvin Harris, Trackhead, Brutalismus 3000, Paul Kalkbrenner, Becca D, the hit machine Swedish House Mafia). Groovy pop is also represented (Lala & ce, Julien Granel, L'Impératrice, Charlotte Cardin), while electric guitars strive not to be forgotten (Sum 41, The Offspring, Yungblud, Mass Hysteria).
Solidays
June 28 to 30, Paris
Organized since 1999 by the Solidarité Sida organization on the lawns of the Hippodrome de Longchamp, Solidays gives meaning to the party. A place for exchange, reflection and the vital transmission of information, the event has always nurtured its friendly atmosphere with an impressive line-up. And this 26th edition is no exception. With Acid Arab, Sam Smith, SDM, Trinix, Gazo & Tiakola, Laurent Garnier on June 28; Mika, PLK, Diplo, Anitta, Isaac Delusion on June 29; Naive New Beaters, Charlotte Cardin, Louise Attaque, Flavien Berger, Pomme, Tif on June 30.
Europavox Festival
June 28 to 30, Clermont-Ferrand, central France
Founded in 2006, the Europavox festival has built its artistic line-up on the discovery of European pop artists. This approach is supported by the creation of a network of correspondents involved in concert and festival production in Italy, Belgium, Austria, Greece, Croatia and Lithuania. Beyond attractive headliners – Zola, Eddy de Pretto, The Libertines on June 28; Phoenix, Dionysos, La Fève, L'Impératrice on June 29; Shaka Ponk, Olivia Ruiz, Solann on June 30 – the Clermont-Ferrand festival remains true to this practice of celebrating new discoveries, showcasing young talent from 16 European countries. The line-up includes Dutch band Pip Blom, Austrians Sharktank and Alo Wala, Spanish group Melenas and Norwegian Ash Olsen.
