

Argentine musician Lalo Schifrin died on Thursday, June 26, from complications of pneumonia at the age of 93, his son Will Schifrin has told The Hollywood Reporter.
A pianist, arranger, composer and conductor, he created the themes for the world-famous Mission: Impossible films and the Mannix television series, the melody for "The Fox" and scores for films such as Bullitt, Dirty Harry and Enter the Dragon.
"With deep sorrow, we received the news of the passing of Lalo Schifrin, a musical genius who transcended borders and generations, and whose legacy will forever be part of the cultural history of our country and the world," said Argentine Secretary of Culture Leonardo Cifelli on X (formerly Twitter).
