Jorgen Boassen has not shied away from his sudden fame. He arrived late at a shopping mall in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, with a Danish TV crew tagging along. His T-shirt sported the image of Donald Trump, captioned with the words "American badass," raising a vengeful fist after the assassination attempt on his life on July 13, 2024. Boassen has made no secret of his admiration for the US President.

The 51-year-old man, with his imposing build, has a surprising background. A builder, boxing enthusiast and father of two, he became Greenland's representative of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement at the end of 2024. He even welcomed the American president's son, Donald Trump Jr, during his whirlwind visit to Nuuk, Greenland's capital, on January 7.

Boassen's adventure began in October 2024. He came into contact with Tom Dans, an advisor to the under secretary of the Treasury for international affairs under Trump's first term, and a member of the US Arctic Research Commission, a government agency, from 2000 to 2021. Dans, who has connections to the highly conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation, created the "American Daybreak" organization, which is designed to promote the MAGA agenda in Greenland.
