Too often, we remember the names of the murderers and not the victims. Ten years have passed since January 9, 2015. Ten years since the deaths of Yohan Cohen, Philippe Braham, François-Michel Saada and Yoav Hattab – killed by an Islamist terrorist while shopping at the Hyper Cacher kosher supermarket at Porte de Vincennes, Paris. Two days after the massacre committed by the Kouachi brothers at the offices of Charlie Hebdo, 16 people were held hostage for more than four hours inside the store by another jihadist from the same sphere, Amedy Coulibaly.

The survivors and the families of the dead would have hoped that the collective memory would long – always – remember this day, when the Jewish community was once again targeted. They would have wanted France to remember the names of their loved ones, not the name of the man who murdered them, and that France would also remember that, two days after the tragedy, it marched through the streets of the capital to show its support, its solidarity. On January 11, 2015, France was Charlie, France was Jewish, France was the police. One and a half million people took to the streets of Paris, 4 million across France, between January 10 and 11.
