A large security perimeter was deployed around the consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Paris, at mid-day on Friday, April 19.

Security services were alerted to the presence of a person suspected of carrying an explosive device. Paris police and the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) secured the area.

Paris transport company RATP said traffic had been suspended on two metro lines (6 and 9) that transit through stops close to the consulate.
