Marie-Caroline Le Pen, the sister of French far-right leader Marine Le Pen, was beaten in the snap parliamentary elections in Sunday, July 7.
The sister of the leader of the Rassemblement National was running for the family's party in the 4th district of Sarthe, where she was narrowly defeated by the Nouveau Front Populaire left-wing alliance. Le Pen won 49.77% of the vote, while left-wing candidate Elise Leboucher garnered 50.23%.
