The far-right Rassemblement National made historic progress in the first round of France's snap legislative elections on Sunday, June 30, in a vote marked by a high increase in turnout. With 33.2% of the vote together with its allies, the Rassemblement National (RN) led by Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella almost doubled its score from the 2022 elections and is in a good position to win a majority of seats in the Assemblée Nationale after the second round, on July 7. But will it be a relative majority or an absolute majority? Who will be the next French prime minister? Will other parties call to block the RN and back other candidates regardless of their affiliation? Ask all of your questions to Le Monde in English's columnist, Gilles Paris, who will answer them in a live Q&A from 1 pm Paris time.
