

Robert Malley is an American diplomat who served as special assistant to President Bill Clinton for Arab-Israeli affairs and took part in the 2000 Camp David summit. He sat on the National Security Council during Barack Obama's presidency and was President Joe Biden's special envoy for Iran. He now teaches at Yale University and co-authored Tomorrow Is Yesterday. Life, Death and the Pursuit of Peace in Israel/Palestine, about the failure of the peace process, with Hussein Agha, a negotiator for Palestine for over 30 years.
First, as the author of a book titled Tomorrow Is Yesterday, how could I not see this as another repetition of history? Trump's plan foresees the creation of a new international mandate, once again under British command and, as in the past, developed without consultation with the Palestinian population.
