Life in red with supermodel Angelina Kendall
GalleryThe tone is set, and this bold color ignites the fashion world. Worn from head to toe, exclusively, with no room for half measures. A series by stylist Emmanuelle Alt and photographer Anthony Seklaoui.
On one side, Emmanuelle Alt, one of the most respected stylists in the industry. On the other, Angelina Kendal, a 19-year-old Brazilian and New Zealand model and one of the most sought-after faces of the moment, both on the runway and in luxury brand campaigns. Behind the lens, French-Lebanese photographer Anthony Seklaoui, a rising star in fashion photography, who recently captured the images for a beautiful book devoted to Pieter Mulier's collections for Alaïa (Alaïa by Seklaoui).
The trio takes center stage in this scarlet-toned series featured in this special fashion issue of M Le magazine du Monde. Why red? A ubiquitous color in this season's collections, this never-say-die hue sets the tone for a dazzling wardrobe. "Unlike that timorous blue, red is a proud color, petrified of ambition and thirsting for power, a color that wants to be seen and is determined to impose itself on all others," wrote research historian and color specialist Michel Pastoureau in Couleurs : le grand livre ("Colors: The Big Book"), co-authored with Dominique Simonnet.
From accessories to make-up, evening gowns to underwear, red is obsessively revisited here with both modernity and singularity.
