Planning a few days' vacation or a long weekend in Paris? Why not use this opportunity to discover five establishments that have recently opened in the capital, from colorful havens of peace to tranquil oases? If a night's stay isn't always affordable, you can always enjoy a cocktail perched on a flowery rooftop or in an Art Nouveau bar.

The Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord stations may be just around the corner, but it's a trip to the (Mediterranean) South that Bloom House offers, a large six-story building with a marble façade, large windows and 91 rooms (including four with terraces on the 6th floor, and 14 with balconies on the 5th) on Rue du Château-Landon, which opened its doors in early September. Stepping through the double doors creates a striking contrast, a potent decompression chamber. Forget the hustle and bustle of the street. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the patio in the background, with its shimmering blue ceramic zellige pool. Before caving in and taking a seat at one of the surrounding tables, make sure to take in the decor and sunny colors of the XXL bar at the entrance, and then of the restaurant La Serre – an alcove for those who prefer privacy – L'Atelier Green, which can accommodate 20 people for work, and the spa, with its 18 x 4-meter pool. Equally welcoming are the rooms, luminous cocoons that sometimes offer something extra: The Sacré-Coeur or the Eiffel Tower on the horizon and a breathtaking view of the patio.

Bloom House, 23 Rue du Château-Landon, 10th arrondissement. Single room from €161, double room from €169, €195 with balcony.

Leave the busy hum of the Champs-Elysées, push open a door on Rue Vernet and dive into the hushed ambiance of a Parisian boudoir. At Château des Fleurs, a 37-room boutique hotel that opened in September, time seems to have stopped in the early 20th century, when Parisian high society used to meet up in literary salons. With its pink and fringed velvet armchairs and sofas, floor tiles covered with oriental rugs, Murano glass chandeliers, but also its curves and homage paying homage to Art Nouveau, you are sure to be transported to another world in this large bar-restaurant, where waiters in cream suits also exude an old-fashioned charm behind the veined marble counter. Upstairs, the beige and wood-shaded rooms are just as cozy. We liked the fringe (again) bedside lamps, the Art Deco bathrooms, the elaborate light switches and, icing on the cake, the hand-shaped door handle reminiscent of the world of Dali. For those who can't afford a night in a five-star hotel, a cocktail evening – flower spritz or Parisian pastis? – or a dinner at the Oma restaurant, run by Korean-born chef Ji-Hye Park, can also be a trip in itself.
