Want to treat yourself without alarming your accountant? Here's a wide-ranging list of addresses. Typically, these establishments tend to be located on Paris's Right Bank. The reason for this is simple: Due to the lower rents and dynamic nightlife, that's where most new restaurants are opening in the capital. But this selection does not neglect the Left Bank, with restaurants that are either new (Vendémiaire) or reinventing themselves (Simone, Le Resto, etc). And since a fine gastronomic scene is developing outside the City of Light, we've added a number of places that are whetting appetites in some very near suburbs. Prepare to feel hungry!

In Romainville, just east of Paris, at the end of a long street lined with fast-food signs, you come to a pretty little square, worthy of a village.
