The Left Party in Sweden, Vänsterpartiet, donated money to a Palestinian group that was involved in the October 7 terrorist attack on Israel through its aid organization, the Left International Forum (VIF).

According to the Dagens Nyheter publication, the money was given to the DFLP organization until 2019 to help support and strengthen women's and human rights through democracy projects.

After the DLFLP revealed its Gaza division assisted Hamas in its attack, VIF president Johanna Eliasson said in a press release, "We are shocked. Via the Danish Unity List, VIF has supported an equality project for young people and human rights in the West Bank." She added, "Now we have learned that one of the parties connected to the project has participated in the reprehensible attacks."

The release noted that Vänsterpartiet, formerly known as the Communist Party of Sweden, gave money to the project between 2013 and 2019.

On the morning of Oct. 7, hundreds of Hamas terrorists crossed the border from Gaza into Israel and indiscriminately slaughtered civilians. In one instance they attacked a music festival where over 250 people were killed after the group paraglided across the border and opened fire on partygoers.

Israel officials have since declared war on Hamas and began attacking targets in Gaza. Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised that the "enemy will pay an unprecedented price." This led to Iran sending a message to Israel that it would intervene in the conflict if operations in Gaza continued.

Iranian Foreign Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told the United Nations envoy to the Middle East Tor Wennesland that Iran doesn't want to see the conflict escalate further, but the Islamic Republic may take action if Israel launches a ground offensive.

The Lebanon-based terrorist organization, Hezbollah, has also announced it is fully prepared to fight alongside Hamas against Israel. "Hezbollah knows its duties perfectly well. We are prepared and ready, fully ready," Hezbollah deputy chief Naim Qassem told supporters.

Since Oct. 7, nearly 1,500 people have been killed in Israel, and Palestinian authorities have claimed that 2,700 people have been killed in Gaza.
