NextImg:ROD THOMSON: Tariffs bring trade wins that help America’s working class

While the media and Democrats are fixated on bringing back an illegal alien, MS-13 gang member whose wife got a restraining order against him, what the media is largely ignoring is the increasing successes of the tariffs — revealing the truism that the degree to which the media ignores a Trump initiative is directly correlated to the success of that initiative.

The administration has already received 18 new, written trade proposals, with Japan's interim deal close to signing, and is having official trade meetings with dozens more countries this week.

"I spoke to our entire trade team this morning. There is a lot of progress being made. We now have 18 proposals on paper brought to the trade team. Again, these are proposals on paper that countries have proposed to the Trump administration and our government," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

"You have Secretary Bessent, Secretary Lutnick, Ambassador Greer, NEC Director Hassett and Peter Navarro, the entire trade team meeting with 34 countries this week alone…more than 100 countries around the world who are wanting to make a deal with the United States of America," Leavitt said. "We are moving at Trump speed to ensure these deals are made on behalf of the American worker and the American people."

Navarro, a senior member of Trump's trade team, told NBC News: "We've got 90 deals in 90 days possibly pending here. " He referred to the 90-day pause that Trump instituted to allow for the huge demand for negotiations. Navarro said it is possible that Trump would complete those deals during that time.

When these trade agreements come to fruition, and most, if not all, will, America and Americans will be much better situated to compete on the global stage. That reality is already showing on the ground, as the more immediate results of the tariffs are that manufacturing is already returning to America.

A Fox News analysis found that looking at both domestic and foreign investments from an array of U.S. industries and manufacturers and from four countries, roughly $5.2 trillion in investments have been made since Jan. 20. These capital investments are estimated to create more than 450,000 new jobs for Americans.

Some of the most prominent domestic investors include tech companies Apple, NVIDIA, Softbank, Oracle, and OpenAI; automakers BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, and Volkswagen; electronics manufacturers Samsung and LG Electronics; and pharmaceuticals such as Novartis. Softbank, Oracle, and OpenAI are investing $500 billion in history's largest artificial intelligence infrastructure project.

But those are the big guys who tend to get all the digital ink and obviously will have a huge impact. The strata below show just how much potential there is to truly reorient America's industrial economy in a way that all the smart kids said was impossible.

For example, Indiana-based Guardian Bikes is investing $19 million in a new factory and expanding hiring as it works towards manufacturing its bikes 100 percent in America. Currently, about 97 percent of bicycles sold in the U.S. are foreign-made, mostly from China.

The new factory will be the only large-scale bicycle manufacturing operation in the United States. It would not be possible without tariffs getting better deals and creating a more level playing field. Guardian Bikes also has locations in California and Pennsylvania, with two more expected in Texas and Georgia this year. CEO Brian Riley understands the moment: "It's not just about making bikes – it's about building a new model for American manufacturing."

Even the oldest industries are already benefiting. CEO Drew Greenblatt said Marlin Steel in Baltimore is hiring and adding equipment, planning to expand its factories in Maryland, Indiana, and Michigan. "You're going to see a huge boom. We will have the opportunity to sell to other countries fairly for the first time in decades."

Marlin Steel is already seeing a substantial impact as the turnaround time for tractor-trailers loaded with steel has gone from two to 12 weeks because of the waves of new orders. He said Marlin has ordered about $1 million in new equipment and is hiring people rapidly. "We're going to be able to pull people up from poverty to the middle class because we're going to be making things here in America and shipping overseas."

From better, more fair trade deals around the world to Apple and NVIDIA, BMW and Honda, Samsung and LG, Guardian Bikes, and Marlin Steel, America is reindustrializing for a better future because of the momentum that tariffs are bringing on every front.
