Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec touched on the cancellation of Joy Reid’s show on MSNBC during Tuesday’s episode, jokingly saying that he was “so sad” that Reid was left “jobless after nature left her hairless.”
“You were there for me in 2016 when no one knew who I was. Long before I had even 10,000 followers, you put me on your show, Joy.”
Posobiec also jokingly extended a job offer to Reid, saying, “We’re going to offer you, Joy Reid, a role here on Human Events Daily as a junior producer,” emphasizing that “through work comes dignity.”
Posobiec then laid out some ground rules for Reid’s hypothetical new position.
“Junior Joy, I’m going to tell you right now, you do not get to do any bookings,” he said, taking a jab at some of MSNBC’s most recognizable faces. “You have that dollar store Don King-looking guy, he’s not welcome. Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow that, I’m fairly certain are the same person. I’m sorry, not welcome. Too many white faces, as it is. Too many white faces on MSNBC. I don’t know why Rachel Maddow just doesn’t quit.”
He then continued, suggesting that Reid would have to earn her way back to a microphone.
“But no, Junior Joy, we’re going to need some assistance. We’re going to need some assistance from you, and not just from your wigs. I miss Junior Joy. She’s going to earn her way back to the microphone, I know she will!”
Posobiec then brought up Reid’s past controversies, mentioning her history with blogging scandals.
“You know something else that’s really nice, you’re going to run the new Human Events Daily blog!” he said. “I know you have such great experience with blogs in the past, and in fact, as it turns out we actually have the FBI director, the current director, who used to come on the show when he was a contributor at Real America's Voice. Why don’t we have him come on and he can go into your investigation of those crazy Russian hackers that hacked into your blog, Joy Reid, and made them post all those crazy things that weren’t supposedly said by you at all, Junior Joy.”
Posobiec was referencing a scandal from 2018 when Reid’s old blog, The Reid Report resurfaced with posts that mocked homosexuality and appeared to out public figures as gay. Initially, Reid claimed her website had been hacked, insisting that she did not write the offensive posts. However, after failing to produce any evidence of tampering, she ultimately walked back her claims, telling viewers on her show, AM Joy: “I genuinely do not believe I wrote those hateful things, because they are completely alien to me. I hired cyber-security experts to see if somebody had manipulated my words or my former blog. And the reality is they have not been able to prove it.”
The controversy at the time put Reid’s credibility into question, though MSNBC ultimately stood by her.
