Climate change activist Greta Thunberg was seen joining in with a number of pro-Palestine protesters who were outside the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden calling for a boycott of the event. The protest follows the participation of Israeli singer Eden Golan who will be performing a song in the final on Saturday.

Thunberg voiced support for the protest against Israel's participation in Eurovision, accusing Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians, according to The Independent.

“People from all over Sweden are gathering in Malmo this week, where Eurovision is taking place, to protest against Israel’s participation in the competition,” she said, referring to the Jewish singer participating.

“Yesterday we were tens of thousands of people flooding the streets of Malmo. We will not accept that a country currently committing genocide is allowed a platform to artwash themselves,” she continued.

“The world cannot remain silent in a genocide. Everyone who can must use their voice and speak up against Israel’s crimes and occupation.”

During the protest, Thunberg was also seen participating in the chant "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," a controversial slogan many have pointed out essentially calls for the destruction of Israel.
