NextImg:English police respond to report of ‘ritual mass murder’ that turns out to be yoga class

On Wednesday, police in Chapel St. Leonards, Lincolnshire, England, responded to reports of a "ritual mass murder" at the North Sea Observatory which turned out to be a Yoga class in progress.

Yoga teacher Millie Laws told the BBC that she saw two dog walkers looking into the room at the Seascape Cafe while the students were in the relaxation portion of the class. She said, "They're [students] laying down with blankets over them, their eyes are closed. It's very dark in there. I just had candles and little tea lights lit the whole room, and I was just walking around playing my drum. I had a nice floaty top on with large bell sleeves."

"A couple with some dogs just came up to the window and were having a look in, but they walked off really quickly, and I didn't think anything of it," she told the outlet. "I didn't know until after we left that these people phoned in saying that there was a mass murderer; they were wearing a robe and they were walking over all of the people, and it looked like some kind of ritual, and that the people on the floor were actually dead."

The 22-year-old said the situation is "a bit surreal and funny." She added, "I feel really bad for whoever the person was who [called the police] that would, of course, have been terrifying. So I do feel for them."

On Facebook, the managers at the Seascape Cafe informed the public in case they were alarmed by the heavy police presence. The post said, "If anyone heard the mass of police sirens in Chapel St Leonards at 9.30 pm last night then please be reassured."

"They were on their way to the Observatory after someone had reported a mass killing in our building, having seen several people laying on the floor... which actually turned out to be the yoga class in meditation" the post read.

The cafe went on to thank the police for its "prompt response" and tell the general public that the observatory has a lot of yoga classes in the evenings and they are "not part of any mad cult or crazy clubs."
