Qatar will purchase 160 aircraft from Boeing, having signed an agreement during President Donald Trump’s visit to Doha on Wednesday. It comes after Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia.
The Qatari deal for Boeing wide-body jets “will include an option to purchase more, Bloomberg reported earlier this month, and it aligns with the Trump administration’s push for nations such as Qatar to invest in US manufacturing,” the outlet writes.
Trump announced on Tuesday the securing of $600 billion in investment from Saudi Arabia, which involved several companies like DataVolt moving forward with plans to invest billions for AI data centres in the US.
Trump also oversaw the signing a “joint declaration of cooperation between the state of Qatar and the United States of America.”
“We discussed Russia and Ukraine… we certainly discussed Iran, where it’s been an interesting situation, I think it’s gonna work out. One way or another it’s going to work out.
Trump said that the purchase of 160 jets is a “record” for Boeing.
