<a href="https://humanevents.com/2023/03/20/polish-ambassador-says-poland-will-have-to-enter-ukraine-conflict-if-country-cannot-defend-independence" style="text-decoration:none">Polish</a> President Andrzej<a href="https://humanevents.com/2023/10/16/polands-conservative-party-on-track-to-lose-power-to-liberal-opposition-coalition-report" style="text-decoration:none"> Duda</a> vetoed a 2024 budget bill on the grounds that it would allow the new government with Polish Prime Minister Tusk to buy up three billion Polish Zloty (PLN) worth of public media. 
 
In a post to X, Duda explained that he would not allow the measure to go forward.

“Public media must first be repaired reliably and legally.”{ai:summary}#foreignaffairs Polish President Duda vetoed a budget bill that would have allowed the new government to buy up PLN 3 billion worth of public media. Duda called it a violation of the Constitution and anarchy. The new government had taken control of public media from supporters of the Law and Justice party.
