President Joe Biden recently said that the LGBT community has more courage than any other group that he has seen in the recent past. The awkward comments come just 10 days after the president made an appearance at the US Air Force Academy, where he tripped over while on stage.
During the Pride event, Biden said, “I see more courage on this lawn than any time I’ve seen in the recent past.” Those in attendance could be heard cheering after the strange comment.
This comes after Biden held the largest Pride event ever held at the White House on Saturday. Photos taken at the event show that the Biden administration had a Pride flag hanging from the White House, in between two US flags.
He appeared to have focused on those who identify as trans, saying, “I want to send a message to the entire community – especially to transgender children: You are loved. You are heard. You belong.” He went on to say that the bills targeted at outlawing child sex changes are an attack on the child’s freedom.
He proclaimed, “...families across the country facing excruciating decisions to relocate to a different state to protect their child from dangerous anti-LGBTQ laws. We need to push back against the hundreds of callous and cynical bills and laws introduced in states, targeting transgender children terrifying families, and criminalizing doctors and nurses. These bills and laws attack the most basic values and freedoms.”
First Lady Jill Biden chimed in, adding, ”We want our kids just to be kids. Running around and, hey, eating too much sugar.”
