‘He put it up the exit ramp': Florida sheriff says man had thermos hidden in body

Walter Frymire, 51, arrested by Polk County Sheriff's Office

A Florida man had quite the surprise for deputies when he was booked into jail: a thermos that he apparently had inserted through his backside, authorities said.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd discussed the unusual find in a Facebook video posted Wednesday morning.

"There's things you can't make up," Judd said.

According to Judd, 51-year-old Walter Frymire was arrested Saturday after a deputy responded to a report of a man naked in restroom at a public park.

Frymire was clothed when the deputy arrived so he was let go, but he then went across the street and trespassed on train tracks, Judd said.

So Frymire was arrested for trespassing and possession of methamphetamine.

"I've talked about meth doing crazy stuff to you, right? You ain't gonna believe this," Judd said.

Frymire was brought to jail where he went through a body scanner.

"You might have thought Walter was bringing drugs into the jail. He brought a thermos into the jail," Judd said, showing off an X-ray photo of the find. "That's right, he put it up the exit ramp, you know what I mean?"

Judd said deputies couldn't believe what they were seeing.

"We saw that and we said 'dude, what are you doing here?'" he said in the video. "He said 'well, I put that inside my body,' and he didn't swallow it, 24 hours earlier."

Frymire was taken to the hospital where a specialist had to be found to remove the thermos.

"It was quite an ordeal," Judd said.

Frymire, who Judd said has 25 prior arrests and has served time in state prison 5 times, was booked into jail after the thermos was removed.
