Social media has been riddled with rumors that President Donald Trump said that black children “were born to be criminals.” These rumors are false.

The rumors began to build steam after Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, a Democrat, falsely alleged that remarks Trump made on Sept. 2 about the hardcore criminals that roam America’s big cities were remarks instead about children:
