SALT LAKE CITY — Local wife Alison Weaver told her husband Matt she was up all night thinking about what he told her earlier that day about her overthinking stuff too much.

Alison reported tossing and turning all night as she went over all the implications of her husband's remark over and over again.

"Do I overthink?" she mused sometime around 2 a.m. "No, I don't overthink." She concluded at 4:56 a.m.

Matt made the comment to his wife after she spent 45 minutes trying to figure out if the text she received from her sister that read "Happy Monday!" had some deeper meaning.

"She was asking Chat GPT if ‘Happy Monday' was slang for something and then spent 20 minutes wondering if she should give the text a ‘thumbs up' or a ‘heart' emoji," Matt explained. "I told her I thought she might have a tendency to overthink stuff, and she asked me what I meant by that, and I told her I meant exactly what I meant, and then she apparently spent all night wondering what I meant."

Alison admitted she might be prone to over-rumination but swore she wasn't as bad as Matt made it seem. "I mean, I don't always overthink stuff. When the PTA president asked me if I'd bring cookies to the fundraiser, did I spend three days wondering why she didn't ask me to bring my homemade spinach puffs like I did last year, and maybe could it be because she never liked my spinach puffs? Well, yes, I did. But that doesn't mean I overthink stuff!"

At publishing time, Alison told Matt he doesn't think about things enough.
