DENVER, CO — Staff at a local Colorado Chuck E. Cheese were recently overrun by a horde of whooping, excited Rockies players eager to celebrate the team's 10th win.
According to Linda Gansey, who works at the Chuck E. Cheese, the Rockies had a grand old time winning tickets and shouting "We got 10! We got 10!"
"Our coaching staff never lets us do stuff like this," said Rockies hitter Elias Díaz. "They've always told us we could have a pizza party at Chuck E. Cheese as soon as we hit 10 wins, but I can't believe we actually did it!"
Gansey said it was "a little painful" to watch the Rockies players at the indoor batting cages.
"They kept coming back and complaining that the machines were throwing it too hard," Gansey said. "And then they asked if there were any lighter bats. I've never seen a patron get walked at one of our batting cages before."
After playing for a few hours, sources say that the team pooled their tickets together to purchase a plush bear.
"We're naming him Ben," said Rockies General Manager Bill Schmidt. "Because it rhymes with 10. As in, 10 wins. Wow! 10 wins! Good job guys! You did so good!"
At publishing time, the Rockies had decided that they would go to a SkyZone if they won 15 games.
