BLUE SPRINGS, MO — A local man was confronted with the unpleasant reality that he had failed miserably as a father after he discovered that his young son was rooting for the New York Yankees.

Aaron Timson later said that he had been living under the false impression that he was doing a solid job of raising his young son, Harrison, only to find out this week that he had utterly failed as a parent when the boy said that the Yankees were one of his favorite teams.

"Where did I go so wrong?" Timson asked. "He seemed like he was growing up into such a well-rounded, level-headed boy. He has been really getting into baseball this year, and I was so proud of how much he's learned. But then… then… he said he wanted the Yankees to win the World Series this year. That's what I realized that I've obviously done a terrible job as a father."

Timson said he had spent all summer teaching Harrison about the rules and history of baseball, but never imagined that it would all come crashing down so horribly. "What else have I failed at?" he asked. "To think that I've been raising a kid who could root for the Yankees… it's devastating. I should probably call CPS on myself."

At publishing time, Timson found out that his failure as a father was even greater than he initially feared after Harrison told him his favorite Star Wars movie was Attack of the Clones.
