BURBANK, CA — In the conclusion to a years-long legal battle, actress and former MMA fighter Gina Carano announced that she had reached an agreement to settle with Disney and would subsequently replace Pedro Pascal in all movies.
Carano had taken legal action against Disney following her 2022 firing from the Star Wars series The Mandalorian, with the studio eventually offering her a settlement that included having her replace Pascal, who had been signed to appear in every single movie for the next several years.
"This is a resounding win for Gina, since she will now be cast in every single Disney film," one studio source revealed. "She had us over a barrel after we fired her for expressing opinions we don't like. We didn't have much of a case to defend ourselves, so our only option was to offer her Pedro's roles in all of our movies."
Industry experts said that replacing Pascal in every movie was the equivalent of winning hundreds of millions of dollars. "As everyone knows, Pedro Pascal has been cast in every movie from now until 2045," an insider explained. "If you're getting all of his roles, you're essentially getting paychecks and royalties for all of those movies. It's a fortune. And audiences will benefit from it as well, because, let's face it, Gina is more pleasant to look at than Pedro."
Part of the deal reportedly included future phases to retroactively use CGI to insert Carano into all of Pascal's past roles.
At publishing time, the settlement had hit a potential roadblock after Disney executives demanded that Carano wear a Pascal-like mustache in every film.
