ATLANTA, GA — The qualifications of a new female Major League Baseball umpire were called into question today as, during a simulated game the night before, she ejected a player for something he did in her dream last night.

"You're out of here!" Stacy Rance said, remembering how the center fielder had flirted with her best friend in the dream she had last night. "Unsportsmanlike conduct!"

Though it's highly irregular for a player to be thrown out who had no part in the current play, it happened Wednesday evening when, while serving at second base, she suddenly turned around and tossed the center fielder from the game. Though the player protested incredulously, she stood her ground. "You know what you did!" she called.

The incident led to a heated argument with the player's manager, who reportedly tried to excuse his player's behavior by pointing out how he was nowhere near the action. "What could he have possibly done from all the way out there?" he asked. But Rance demonstrated how she wasn't afraid of being bullied by men. "If you don't know, I'm certainly not going to tell you," she shouted in reply.

The manager was subsequently also thrown out of the game.

Fans were calling for Rance to be dismissed after such a passive-aggressive display, but MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred refused to back down from the goal of adding more female umpires. "I don't know what the center fielder did," he told the media, "but she said it was pretty bad, and I believe her. Hashtag BelieveAllWomen. Yes, I just said 'hashtag' out loud."

At publishing time, ESPN Major League Baseball Analyst Tim Kirkjian had written of Pawol's performance: "Her refusal to listen to reason is what makes her a great fit as an umpire."

The Washington Commanders aren't the only sports team in Trump's crosshairs.
