U.S. — Following the announcement that music artist Bad Bunny would be performing at the Super Bowl halftime show, outraged conservatives across the country vowed to boycott the NFL until next Sunday.
Angry fans from largely conservative areas of the nation voiced their displeasure on social media after the halftime show announcement, promising to punish the NFL by refusing to watch any games at all on the days of the week when there aren't any games and only returning when their favorite teams play their next games on Sunday.
"This makes me mad enough to completely cut the NFL out of my life for the next 6 days," said one furious conservative. "I can't believe the league that the sports league that fully embraced the Black Lives Matter movement and painted social justice phrases all over its fields and helmets would do something like this. I've had it. I'm done with the NFL. You won't catch me watching any football games until the next time my team plays."
Other disappointed fans expressed similar sentiments. "It's time to teach the NFL a lesson," another conservative fan posted. "I'm not going to stand for this type of liberal agenda and woke garbage. That's why I'm officially boycotting the NFL until next Sunday, when I'm hosting a watch party at my house for all my friends. Can't miss that one."
At publishing time, conservative football fans in California said that their boycott of the league would keep going all the way until Thursday night when the 49ers play the Rams.
