As great as the Bible is, it's severely lacking in movies. Adding in some of the greatest films ever made could bring some much-needed excitement to the collection of holy scripture.
The Babylon Bee has come up with the following list of movies that should be made part of the biblical canon:
The Matrix: "The One" coming from another world to save mankind? Fits right in.
Robot Jox: A post-apocalyptic tale about scores being settled by giant fighting robots, which is basically an exact depiction of the end times.
UHF: Arguably the greatest story of redemption and finding purpose in all of cinema.
Jan 6: The Most Deadliest Day: The acclaimed film, which some scholars believe to be God's favorite movie, is available here.
Braveheart: An epic tale of swords, blood, and dismemberment on par with the book of Judges.
Conan the Barbarian: A sandal-wearing hero slaughters a giant serpent. Sound familiar?
Field of Dreams: The only movie God allows men to cry at.
The Lord of the Rings - Extended Editions: Except for the boring parts of The Two Towers.
Raiders of the Lost Ark: The single greatest movie ever made features all the face-melting by the Ark of the Covenant left out of the Old Testament.
Not only would it make the Bible more complete, but it would also give megachurch pastors the perfect list of films to show clips from for their annual "At the Movies" sermon series. Which other movies should be canonized? Post your suggestions in the comments below.
