A woman armed with a handgun was taken into custody Wednesday after an hour-long standoff with police at the FBI building in Seattle.

No hostages were taken and no one was injured.

The woman walked into a part of the building where people wait to be buzzed into the lobby, FBI spokesperson Steve Bernd told the Associated Press.

She was pointing the gun at her chest and wanted to be taken into custody.

“At one point, the woman was demanding the FBI take her into custody, and they do have authority over that building,” Seattle Police Officer Eric Munoz told Seattle ABC affiliate KOMO-TV.

Nearby areas were cordoned off as a team of hostage negotiators talked to the woman.

“We just got a notification from our building management that there was an active shooter and they put us on lockdown and told us to stay in our offices until the lockdown was lifted,” Heather Bullock, who works nearby, told Seattle NBC affiliate KING-TV.

The woman eventually put down the gun and surrendered.

The FBI told KOMO-TV that they will not publicly identify the woman and are working to establish her motive. No charges have yet been filed against her.
