A woman is suing wholesaler chain Costco for more than $14 million because she says she was injured when a liquor cabinet on display fell onto her.

Sadie Novotny and her husband were at a Santa Rosa, California, Costco location on March 22 when the alleged incident occurred. Ms. Novotny claims that a large cabinet fell and pinned her, causing a traumatic brain injury, according to court documents cited by The Press Democrat of Santa Rosa.

She also wrote in a Costco incident report that “I caught the cabinet and pushed it back. My right shoulder, forearm, hand, fingers and lower back hurt after the accident,” according to NBC News.

Costco has not yet responded to a request for comment from The Washington Times.

Her lawyer, Claude Wyle, told CBS News that Ms. Novotny was diagnosed with a mild concussion after the incident and that she continues to suffer from headaches, sight issues and difficulty in finding what words to say.

Mr. Wyle also claims that Costco has video footage of the incident.

Ms. Novotny says that the cabinet’s thin legs and the wooden pallet it was sitting on led to the fall. She is suing on grounds of general negligence, premises liability and product liability, according to USA Today.

She is seeking $14,110,000 in total damages according to USA Today, including $5 million for emotional damage, $5 million for pain and suffering, $2 million for future medical expenses, $2 million for loss of future earning capacity, $50,000 for medical expenses to date, $50,000 for lost earnings to date and $10,000 for loss of household services.
