A woman was found dead in a car driven into a snowbank at Yellowstone National Park Saturday. The driver was arrested at the scene by park rangers.

On Saturday evening, rangers responded to the scene, 3 miles south of the Old Faithful geyser in Wyoming, and found the crashed vehicle and the driver, Michael McCollum, a 47-year-old Texan, standing by it.

Inside the vehicle, rangers found Catheryn Griffin, 38, deceased. The investigation into the exact cause of her death is ongoing, the National Park Service said Monday.

Mr. McCollum was arrested on three misdemeanor charges of drug possession, driving with a suspended license and driving while the car’s occupants were not wearing seatbelts, according to the Jackson Hole News & Guide.

No other accusations or charges have been made against Mr. McCollum in connection with the incident.
