Prince George’s County police said they arrested and charged a woman Thursday who is accused of stabbing and running over multiple people at random during a chaotic crime spree.

Authorities said they took Tanay Stallings-Brown, 31, of Baltimore, into custody on attempted murder, assault and other charges in connection with a string of incidents that left two severely wounded and another four victims with minor injuries.

“Within six hours of her first crime, PGPD detectives identified, located and arrested [Stallings-Brown] in Baltimore,” Chief Malik Aziz said in a statement Friday. “I am proud of each of these officers. They worked with a determination to arrest the suspect who would so brazenly come into our community and cause harm to six victims. We wish each of these victims well in their recoveries.”

Police said that the roughly 90-minute rampage began just after 5 p.m. Thursday when a driver struck a woman on a sidewalk in Capitol Heights.

The victim, who was hit near the intersection of Forest Park Drive and Ritchie Road suffered minor injuries.

Ten minutes later, authorities said two more victims were struck near the intersection of Ritchie Road and Central Avenue.

Police said the female suspect then got out of her car and stabbed a 15-year-old girl, leaving the teen with life-threatening injuries. A man who was hit by the car suffered minor injuries.

Ms. Stallings-Brown is accused of ramming two more men in back-to-back incidents around 5:25 p.m.

Authorities said one man was hit twice by a female driver in the 6800 block of Walker Mill Road. A second man was hit by the same driver in the 1000 block of Addison Road South. Both men suffered minor injuries.

The final victim was attacked in Lanham about an hour later when police said the suspect stabbed a man in the 9100 block of Annapolis Road. The victim was left with critical injuries.

Police said they tracked the suspect vehicle — a dark-colored Chevrolet Malibu — to Baltimore later that evening and arrested Ms. Stallings-Brown during a traffic stop.

The Chevy Malibu had significant front-end damage and a smashed windshield, according to police.

Ms. Stallings-Brown was transported back to Prince George’s County and booked into jail.

Authorities said the various attacks appeared random. A motive is still under investigation.
