A woman is being sought by Bridgeton, New Jersey, police who accuse her of hopping a wooden fence before sticking her hand through a wire enclosure at a tiger exhibit at the Cohanzick Zoo.
In a since-deleted Facebook post, the Bridgeton Police Department said that the woman began “enticing the tiger” and that she was nearly bitten by the big cat. The police also noted that climbing over any fence at the Cohanzick Zoo is a violation of Bridgeton city ordinances.
Law enforcement did not specify when the incident took place, but asked anyone with information to call 856-451-0033 extension 0.
The Cohanzick Zoo was the first in New Jersey, opening in 1934, and it has hosted Bengal tiger brothers Rishi and Mahesha since 2017, when they arrived as cubs from another zoo in North Carolina.
