Top officials Tuesday denounced a newly exposed transgender sex chat room where employees of federal intelligence agencies talked about “castration, artificial vaginas, [urine] fetishes, sex polycules, and gangbangs” on a government messaging system during work hours.

The shocking forum involved workers at the National Security Agency, the Central Intelligence Agency and the Defense Intelligence Agency. Manhattan Institute senior fellow Christopher Rufo and investigator Hannah Grossman exposed the messages.

The employees also discussed male-to-female transgender surgeries, celebrated the death of televangelist Pat Robertson, and attacked Italians, Christians, conservatives, heterosexuals and Tulsi Gabbard, the new director of national intelligence.

NSA officials launched a first-of-its-kind transgender inclusion policy at the agency four years ago.

On Tuesday, top intelligence officials condemned the chat room and said it no longer existed.

The lurid exchanges, exposed on social media, garnered the attention of President Trump’s government efficiency adviser Elon Musk, who posted on X: “MAJOR housecleaning is needed.”

The two investigators uncovered the extraordinary exchange in chat logs provided by the NSA’s Intelink Messenger program, which hosted groups called “LBTQA” and “IC_Pride_TWG.”

Mr. Rufo, writing on his Substack page, said NSA sources indicated that the chats over four years were partly enabled by the agency’s commitment to pushing diversity, equity and inclusion. The Trump administration has banned the DEI policies.

“There is a battalion of male-to-female transgenders within the American intelligence apparatus,” Mr. Rufo said on X. “They hate Italians and LibsofTikTok. They fantasize about pseudo-vaginas and [anal] lazers. They are in charge of the most sophisticated spying machine in human history.”

The NSA made DEI and transgender inclusion a top priority under the Biden administration.

Paul Nakasone, a retired general who served as NSA director under Mr. Biden, announced the agency’s first “Gender Identity, Expression and Affirmation policy” on May 25, 2021.

The policy addressed equal employment opportunity and promoted “a safe and inclusive work environment for transgender personnel.” Mr. Nakasone said the policy “precipitated a broader effort to improve language inclusivity” at the NSA.

In 2022, the agency identified “six critical focus areas essential for building diversity and fostering inclusion.”

Mr. Nakasone told Congress that the agency was focused on year-over-year increases in diversity within the intelligence community ranks.

The NSA’s priorities centered on increasing “underrepresented populations” at all grades and senior ranks and changing the “NSA culture to be more naturally diverse, fair and inclusive.”

The agency was forced to end all DEI initiatives and scrub diversity-related material from its websites and internal network after Mr. Trump took office and issued an executive order banning DEI initiatives in the federal government.

Ms. Gabbard said the chat rooms were eliminated “immediately” after Mr. Trump entered the White House.

In a statement, she blamed the lurid chat room on Mr. Biden, who she said was “obsessed” with DEI.

“This behavior is unacceptable and those involved WILL be held accountable,” Ms. Gabbard said. “Our Intelligence Community must be focused on our core mission: ensuring the safety, security, and freedom of the American people.”

Ms. Gabbard was attacked in recent messages leaked to Mr. Rufo.

In a Dec. 20 chat, officials from the NSA, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and SpaceCom, one of whom identifies as they/them, called Ms. Gabbard  “fervently anti-queer,” a “Russian agent” and a member of the MAGA “cult.”

Some of the chats are graphic and explicitly sexual.

“These employees discussed hair removal, estrogen injections, and the experience of sexual pleasure post-castration,” Mr. Rufo wrote.

“Getting my [anus] zapped by a laser was … shocking,” posted a transgender-identifying intelligence employee who Mr. Rufo said spent thousands of dollars on hair removal.

“Look, I just enjoy helping other people experience boobs,” another employee said in a post about estrogen treatments for men.

In another message, a Defense Intelligence Agency employee confessed that “one of the weirdest things that gives me euphoria is when i pee, i don’t have to push anything down to make sure it aims right.”

With an executive order issued hours after his election, Mr. Trump sought to end “DEI’s filtration” in the federal government.

Mr. Trump called the DEI initiatives instituted under Mr. Biden “illegal and immoral discrimination programs.”

Last week, a federal judge in Baltimore blocked portions of Mr. Trump’s executive order that affected federal contracts and grants.
