WATCH: House leadership criticizes other party’s presidential presumptive nominees as election looms

As the 2024 Election looms, members of the U.S. House of Representatives continue their criticisms of the presumptive presidential nominees from either party.
At a House leadership press conference on Wednesday, Democratic Caucus Chairman Rep. Pete Aguilar, (D) California, mentioned former President Donald Trump’s recent comments about the potential of his losing the election and that leading to “a bloodbath” in the country.
“On January 6th, Donald Trump urged a violent mob to attack the United States Capitol and the people inside it. It’s not subject to interpretation. This is a fact. There’s no doubt that he would do it again. And why I’ve said from this podium that he represents a clear and present danger to democracy. His comments over the weekend suggesting that if he were to lose the election, there would be a bloodbath in this country should be taken both literally and seriously,” Aguilar said.
Meanwhile, leadership for the House Republicans are in the midst of “Energy Week” and took the time during their Wednesday morning press conference to highlight how they think President Joe Biden has harmed American energy.
And House Speaker Mike Johnson, (R) Louisiana, focused on what he thinks made former President Donald Trump good for American energy.
