Entertainment juggernaut Disney is laying off hundreds of its employees around the world from multiple divisions.

Most of those laid off worked in divisions of Disney Entertainment, as opposed to parts dedicated to ESPN or Disney’s stable of theme parks, according to Deadline.

Affected divisions include TV and film marketing, TV publicity, casting and development, and Disney’s corporate financial team, according to The Associated Press.

A Disney spokesperson confirmed the layoffs to the AP but did not provide an exact number of how many employees have been let go. None of the teams that lost workers were eliminated in their entirety.

The newest layoffs affected “several hundred” people, according to the Los Angeles Times. Most of the laid-off employees in the affected TV divisions worked in Los Angeles, according to Deadline.

In its second-quarter earnings release last month, Disney said that its linear networks suffered a 13% drop in revenues year-over-year, while its direct-to-consumer streaming services saw an 8% increase in revenue.

Disney also said it gained 2.5 million new subscribers to a package offering both Disney+ and Hulu between the first and second quarters of fiscal year 2025, and 1.4 million to Disney+ alone.

The newest layoffs come just months after another 200 workers were let go from ABC News and Disney’s catalog of TV networks over a drop in ratings, according to the Los Angeles Times.
