Telecommunications giant Verizon resolved an outage Monday evening after hours of disruptions nationwide.

The outage started at around 9 a.m. Eastern, according to outage reporting website Down Detector, with reports peaking at 104,932 at 11:17 a.m.

The most affected areas according to Down Detector included Chicago, Phoenix, Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Minneapolis and Las Vegas.

The number of outage reports on the site dropped to 44,492 by 4:32 p.m., before declining to 5,935 reports just after 6 p.m.

Verizon posted an update on X at 7:18 p.m. saying the issues were resolved.

“We know how much people rely on Verizon and apologize for any inconvenience. We appreciate your patience,” Verizon said.

Verizon did not say what caused the outage.

The Federal Communications Commission wrote on X, “We’re aware of a Verizon outage impacting customers in parts of the country. We are working to determine the cause and extent of these service disruptions.”
