Two men were arrested, one after being shot by police, after a Prince George’s County officer was rammed by a van early Sunday.
Authorities said officers were patrolling in Clinton around 1:50 a.m. when they noticed a van parked outside a closed gas station in the 7600 block of Crain Highway.
One officer approached the driver of the van on suspicion of breaking and entering, which is when police said the motorist sped off and struck the officer.
A second officer on the scene shot at the fleeing suspects and police gave chase.
Police said the two suspects, who weren’t identified, were arrested near the intersection of Branch Avenue and Old Silver Hill Road shortly after.
Authorities said one of the suspects was wounded by the officer’s gunfire. That suspect was hospitalized and is in stable condition.
The officer who was hit by the van was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
