Former President Donald Trump will meet separately with House and Senate Republicans on Capitol Hill Thursday to discuss campaign and potential post-election strategies.

House Republican leaders announced to their members Tuesday that they will hold a special political conference meeting Thursday morning with Mr. Trump, who will be in Washington to speak at the Business Roundtable’s June CEO quarterly meeting that day.

The House announcement follows one from Senate Republican Conference Chairman John Barrasso of Wyoming that he invited Mr. Trump to speak to GOP senators later Thursday.

“I believe it will be helpful to hear directly from President Trump about his plans for the summer and to also share our ideas for a strategic governing agenda in 2025,” Mr. Barrasso said in an email sent to the conference Monday, obtained by The Washington Times.

Both meetings are being held in the Capitol Hill area but outside of official congressional buildings to comply with ethics rules preventing political discussions from occurring in the Capitol.

In addition to discussing campaign tactics, Republicans on both sides of the Capitol will likely want to talk with Mr. Trump about an agenda for the next Congress should the GOP sweep the elections in November.

House GOP leaders have already begun discussions with Mr. Trump and their committee chairs about a legislative package that Republicans could pass through the budget reconciliation process if they have control of both the House and Senate. Budget reconciliation legislation is exempt from the filibuster and thus can pass with a simple majority, but it’s subject to strict rules around taxes and spending.
