Donald Trump plans to ​sit down for his first in-studio television interview since skirting a second assassination attempt against him.

Mr. Trump, the 2024 GOP presidential nominee, will appear on “Gutfeld!” on Fox News on Wednesday night after holding a rally in Long Island, New York.

The appearance comes days after Ryan Routh was charged with trying to gun down Mr. Trump at his golf course in Florida.

Secret Service agents fired at Mr. Routh, 58, after spotting the barrel of his AK-47 poking out of the shrubbery at Mr. Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach.

The scary incident played out nine weeks after Mr. Trump narrowly escaped death at a rally in Pennsylvania.

Mr. Trump returned to the campaign trail Tuesday, where he briefly discussed the assassination attempt and praised the Secret Service.

“Only consequential presidents get shot at,” Mr. Trump said.

He also said he received phone calls from President Biden and his top White House rival, Vice President Harris, following the second assassination plot.

“She could not have been nicer,” Mr. Trump said of Ms. Harris.

Mr. Trump previously blamed Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris for inciting the violence against him with their combative rhetoric.
