NextImg:Trump says he’ll ‘gladly’ release medical records

Former President Donald Trump said he would release his medical records, but didn’t say when.

In an interview with CBS News on Monday, Mr. Trump said he would “very gladly” hand over his medical records to the public.

Mr. Trump, 78, is the oldest presidential candidate by almost 20 years now that President Biden has dropped out of the race. Age has been a big discussion during this election cycle since Mr. Biden, 81, would’ve been 86 by the end of a second term.

But, he has since dropped out and handed the baton over to Vice President Kamala Harris, who is just shy of 60.

The former president said in the interview that he has no post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms from his assassination attempt last month. He also said he recently had a medical exam and he received a “perfect score,” and “aced” two cognitive tests.

“I got everything right,” he told CBS’s Caitlin Huey-Burns in Pennsylvania. “And one of the doctors said, ’I’ve never seen that before, where you get everything right.’ No, I have no problem. I’d go a step further, I think anybody that runs for president, whether they’re 75 or 65 or 45, I think should take a cognitive test.”

Mr. Trump had suggested before that he would take a cognitive test with Mr. Biden, after there had been a push for presidential candidates to do so especially in the wake of Mr. Biden’s shaky debate performance that shook the nation.

“Joe should immediately take a Cognitive Test, and I will go with him, and take one also. For the first time we’ll be a team, and do it for the good of the Country … And from now on, all Presidential candidates should be mandated to take a Cognitive Test and Aptitude Test, regardless of their age!!!” Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social last month.

Mr. Trump has released his medical records before, including in 2016 when he was running for president.
