Former President Donald Trump said he thinks he would win the state of California’s Electoral College votes if God were counting the ballots.
“If God came down from on high and God said ‘I will be the voting tabulator for the day,’ I believe I would win California because I do great with the Hispanics,” he told a crowd at a Wednesday rally in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Polling suggests that Mr. Trump might need divine intervention in more ways than one to carry California, but the former president has said before he would win the deep-blue state were it not for corruption by fallen man.
“We need God as our vote counter just one day every four years,” he said Wednesday in North Carolina, adding it would only be for the presidential election.
“If we had God, oh boy would it be a lot easier and a lot better,” he said.
