President-elect Donald Trump renewed his promise that President Biden’s ban on offshore drilling will not stand.

“I will reverse it immediately. Immediately. And we will drill, baby, drill,” Mr. Trump said during an announcement at Mar-a-Lago Tuesday. “We’re going to be drilling in a lot of other locations and the energy costs are going to come way down. They’re going to be brought down to a very low level and that’s going to bring everything else down.”

He also criticized spending on the “Green New Scam,” which is what he calls the Green New Deal, which are proposals that address climate change.

He slammed the Biden administration for a “difficult” transition.

“They told me, we’re going to do everything possible to make this transition to the new administration very smooth. It’s not smooth because they’re doing that,” he said.

Mr. Biden announced Monday the ban on offshore oil and gas drilling in several regions of the U.S., including off the East and West coasts, the eastern Gulf of Mexico and parts of Alaska’s Northern Bering Sea.

Mr. Trump also railed against the ban in a Truth Social post.

“Biden is doing everything possible to make the TRANSITION as difficult as possible, from Lawfare such as has never been seen before, to costly and ridiculous Executive Orders on the Green New Scam and other money wasting Hoaxes,” he wrote Monday. “Fear not, these ‘Orders’ will all be terminated shortly, and we will become a Nation of Common Sense and Strength.”
