President Trump said he will “probably” be meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy next week and speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the “ridiculous” war between the two countries.
“For one primary reason — they’re killing so many people. You’re losing millions of people on a battlefield,” Mr. Trump said.
“I’d like to see it end just on a human basis,” he said. “It’s terrible what’s going on.”
He called it a “ridiculous war” and said that the war never would’ve happened if he were already president.
Mr. Trump also said he wanted to talk to Mr. Zelenskyy about Ukraine’s “rare earth” minerals. He said the U.S. wants “an equal amount of something” in exchange for the money provided to Ukraine to help fight the war.
He touted the “good relationship” he’s had in the past with Mr. Putin.
