President Trump on Thursday mused about serving a third term as president.
“I want to be here with you, and I have to be here with you,” he told a prayer breakfast crowd at the Washington Hilton. “And I do that despite the fact that they say I can’t run again.”
He added, “No, I want to be with you regardless. It’s an honor.”
Mr. Trump traveled down the block to his second prayer breakfast of the morning after giving remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast at the Capitol, where he spoke of bringing religion back and promoting unity between Democrats and Republicans.
The president has joked before about running again, but the Constitution would have to be amended for a president to serve more than two terms.
