NextImg:Trump demands Democrats applaud his ‘incredible wins’

President Trump lashed out at Democrats during Tuesday’s address to Congress, complaining that they were refusing to applaud anything he has done.

“This is my fifth such speech to Congress. Once again, I look at the Democrats in front of me and I realize there is absolutely nothing I can say to make them happy,” he said.

He spoke just moments after Rep. Al Green, who is already pursuing impeachment against him, had to be removed from the chamber for disrupting the speech. Mr. Green’s fellow Democrats sat silently through Mr. Trump’s introduction and the start of his speech.

The president said he could cure a terrible disease, stop crime or deliver the greatest economy and it wouldn’t faze Democrats.

“These people sitting right here will not clap, will not stand and certainly will not cheer for these astronomical achievements,” he said.

He then delivered a challenge: “For just this one night, join us in celebrating so many incredible wins for America.”

Mr. Trump also chided his predecessor, former President Joseph R. Biden, as the “worst president in American history.”

His chiding of Democrats was sandwiched between a victory lap over the record low border numbers and jabbing at the Biden administration’s Justice Department for pursuing criminal charges against him,

“How did that work out?” Mr. Trump said, drawing massive applause from Republicans.
